Glamour Photos
By Fr. Dennis | March 14, 2005
Well, not really “glamour” photos. I just had my passport made. I couldn’t decide whether to go with the “clerical” look or not, so I did both. I eventually went with the “civilian” look because when I travel to Central America this summer, I don’t want anyone who sees my passport to think I’m a wealthy American priest whose diocese will pay a large ransom for my return if I am grabbed off the street.
Besides, Dawn Eden has been complaining about Christopher Hanson’s op-ed piece in the Baltimore Sun which criticizes bloggers, and Dawn in particular, for their narcissism.
In response, Dustbury.com has started a “glamour photo” page for bloggers. I think it’s funny.

Dennis,
Happy you went with the civi look. Many countries will hassle you if you’re wearing a Roman Collar in those pictures and I don’t know one priest who took his passport picture with his clerics on. Sad you have to be anonymous to minister sometimes.

Well, collar or not, welcome back. Websurfing hasn’t been the same without you.
