My Chalice Arrived
By Fr. Dennis | February 13, 2008
The chalice that will be blessed at my ordination, that I will use at my first mass, that I will use throughout my priesthood, that will contain the precious blood of Jesus at every mass I celebrate…
It arrived today. There is a tradition that a priest’s parents obtain a chalice for him. I’m shipping it via UPS to my folks because they want to have the bottom of the base engraved. I guess this makes it real.

Beautiful! What a great moment for you, Dennis. Is there still a tradition of scratching the chalice somewhere?

It is a magnificent piece! Congratulations!
I’m sure it was not found in the hardware department at Wal-Mart!
